Hiking in the Smokies

Pics from our hike to Laurel Falls in Great Smoky Mountain National Park. If it isn't totally obvious from the pics, G has definitely entered that phase every kid goes thru where they do more of a grimace than a smile whenever the camera comes out. Oh well, at least the scenery was amazing. We really loved that Greta hiked up to the waterfall (about 1.3 miles) without ever being carried. She got carried maybe halfway down, but then finished it off on her own feet . A couple miles hiking for a 3 year old is not too shabby. No wonder she fell asleep in the car about an hour later and didn't even wake up when we saw the bear cub scurry onto the road :-( I have never been more torn before over whether or not to wake my child up.....totally made the right decision letting her sleep though. Enjoy!
